My girlfriend is so grateful for bitcoin and loves how it brings so much hope to our lives. But it does grate on her if all I talk about is bitcoin. I’m a regular person too. That’s who she fell in love with, not bitcoin! Bitcoin practically affects everything and it can be THE driving force in your life. But if you lose your identity in it, who are you really? Bitcoin is my favorite cult, for sure, but again, how does bitcoin fuel YOU? Bitcoin is our time and energy made manifest digitally. But what are you building with it? Answering these questions will help connect you to those closest to you and push away the ones that don’t get you.

Many important topics are boring. Bitcoin is one of them. The level of effort and unlearning required to begin to understand Bitcoin is most people’s barrier to entry. As someone personally very interested in Bitcoin, my wife can barely stand to listen to me talk about it. So I understand it for her. She may not understand its underlying technology or philosophy but one day she will understand its benefits. I do this for her, for our one day children, and for a legacy of freedom I hope to pass down to generations. This is how I view my understanding of Bitcoin as love. 🧡 #bitcoin #love #nostr

Probably the same reasons I had no interest in it, until I did. Everyone at their own pace.

Had to slowly undo everything she'd learned in public school, then some of the stuff she'd learned from the Dave Ramseys of the world. She's coming around. I've suggested she watch/read the Tuttle Twins with our (homeschooled) kids, too, which has been fun for all of us. Biggest hangup recently, though, is having almost nothing left for "corn" after buying gas and groceries...

Because it's really not that interesting a topic. It's just money. The first few convos sure but after a while, it gets old.

A multitude of reasons of course. She’s not ready, not interested or just doesn’t understand. Only a matter of time. Look at everything that was poopoo’d before such as the airplane or the internet.

It's the opposite for me. My partner got tired of my Bitcoin monologues so I decided to tone it down and move to #nostr. True story.

Different people have different priorities. If you're taking care of one segment of all the potential areas of focus in a partnership why would they want to delve into the details of something that you are obviously more informed on and already invested in. They can use their spare attention span to the areas that you don't care about. That is why you are a team. You don't have to pull them into things they don't care about, just because you do. If you die they will have no idea how to do the things you do. So maybe you can leave good notes and tutorials behind but otherwise don't waste your time? * Wild speculation, multiple assumptions, and person projections were involved in the previous paragraphs. I know NOTHING and this is not a well thought out opinion. Do not value anything I said that doesn't resonate with you.

At first, they probably see us like the guy that been trapped in a scam. ...and with NGU come the respect even though they are still not interested. ...and with the crazy bull market come their interest.

If she respects you and your judgement, she will at least hear you out. Either she is curious and open, which leads to her understanding it down the line. Or she still won’t really care or understand, but will let you talk and be happy that you have a passion and goals because of it.

I’m one of these wives....It’s just such a huge re-education, but little by little, but by bit I’ve learned to love it. After all: ‘First they ignore you. Then they laugh at you. Then they fight you. Then you win’ no?

Most of the people trust the media more then the people around them. They couldn´t believe that most of the things they where toldar completly wrong. I guess they don´t want to accept this. I told i lot of friend of mine that they don´t have to believe me, they just can read about bitcoin on there own. No one of them has done this so far...
