The more it is adopted by the politicians with ulterior motives, I more skeptical I get despite the technology. The technology might be super but human nature is worse in equal proportions to offset whatever good that can come out of it.
@Lyn Alden, @jack mallers, & @Ross Ulbricht (so fucking powerful!) were the rare exceptions I saw in the main live feed they ran - the degen madness coming seems inevitable.

Yes, it was very painful to hear politicians who have just learned that they had better get behind ‘crypto’ reading inane speeches as though they were addressing a town hall at their local retirement home. Nevertheless, kudos to the genuine ones who have put a lot of work and political capital over the years to move things in the right direction.
Here's the problem. Beyond a certain scale, you need lots of money to run these things. Like many millions of dollars. And you're not getting that much from plebs or Bitcoin-only companies, so they have to bring in the people that are willing to pay, like altcoiners, bankers, governments and other scammers. And they want to see politicians and other people that they get along with. In other words, beyond a certain size, these events are funded by fiat money. True Bitcoin-only conferences rarely scale this much. View quoted note →
IT was WAY too big and way to segregated. Half of it was roped off to people with "lesser" tickets. -At one point, I was sitting on a couch in front of the Nakamoto stage. I looked back to see people standing behind me blocking the view of the other 4000+ people sitting. I got up, and never came back. -The booths on the main floor were the best place to be, chatting with all the people who are doing things. -Bitcoin magazine is now doing a fabulous job of putting most all the stage talks on video. - The place was packed with hedge fund vultures from new york, doing all their "rounds" that they intend to sell to the public at a 1000% profit in 17 months.. -I will never go back. It's just too big for me. But, it's a good thing. It's means we are winning.

They can keep their fiat money, blockchain and ideas in the most fiat place. The only thing that will be tokanized in history is their ability to burn themselves and anyone else that follows them. Stablecoins are just another way to print money. @Bitcoin Magazine you should be ashamed, but you can't be, because you're controlled opposition to co-opt the movement. Funny how it's always the media being used to control the message. Every movement or idea has these types of people that will come as wolves in sheep's clothing.

In my experience, no matter what industry you’re in, the conference itself is fluff. The real value is in the conversations at the dinners or bars after. That being said, think they should change the name of the conference to not lead people on 😂
Watching the suits take over bitcoin because yall voted for this like 🍿

...an addendum: some are trying to transfer the domain the power on Bitcoin ...from Sats Gang to the some their authorities ...here is a tip: Bitcoin will remain in the same inefficients incompetents hands (oh they get be inefficient & incompetent even when something is for them) #losers #PoorSatsGang ...type: Sats (their invention) didnt work!
It seems the degens of this cycle are nation states and institutions. Remember when you realised that you could long bitcoin and simultaneously short fiat. You thought crypto degens are reckless? Prepare for a leverage loop like never before and don’t hold paper bitcoin.
This is how someone who never truly believed in Bitcoin or nostr sounds. "Stablecoins are the future"?🙄 #bitcoin #nostr
