I've developed a fiat strategy that isn't for everyone but figured I'd toss the idea out there since it's been working well for several years. I apply for a 12-15 month 0% APR credit card and use it to pay for expected annual medical expenses. I have the sats to pay in full (in case anything goes sideways), but I use an HSA to pay the card balance monthly so that the balance is 0 at the end of the year. I also get 1.5% back in rewards to buy more sats. Most of the expenses are at the front of the year (before we hit our insurance deductible), so this spreads the cost over an entire year, interest and tax free with rewards back. And the sats I set aside get to stay in cold storage, ideally growing in value.
