Is it not simply oil and control? On the surface they blame narcotics. Feels abit like the WMD pretext for the Iraq war. It's non of DCs business but they take what they want. I feel bad for the people because they are the ones who will get hurt the most.
Iran, China, & Russia were using Venezuela resources. We don’t like those companies, I mean countries. If Venezuela falls, it also weakens Cuba as they have ties there. That’s how I see it. Still don’t think it’s our business, but our business is everyone else’s apparently.
It ain't snyy of DC's business. Chevron et el. Are butt hurt. The USA has enough oil, after all fracking opened up supply tenfold. So oil is actually not it. Most likely Chinese and Russian influence, base building and presence. Controlling that area too (Panama etc. ) It's just imperialism. "If Russia can do it so can we"

In short, it is about power, stability, and credibility, not just ideology or democracy.
Playing devil's advocate: The unstable society of Venezuela, mostly caused by fiat currency, poses a threat to the interests of the United States (the biggest issuer of fiat currency). The US is going to make the Federal Reserve note the money of Venezuela, or at least have it tied to a new colonial currency like with the African CFA, and closely "ally" themselves with the state they ultimately will fully control. The US has entered the Empire stage of fiat states, it is forcibly overthrowing the current fiat Mafia in order to replace it with subservience to ours. The US is speed running the collapse of empire, and Bitcoin is here to pickup the pieces.
