Makes sense that people who like a social media platform which doesn't try to manipulate you into spending every waking minute on it with addiction optimized algorithms and shady dark patterns would spend less time on social media in general. Now if the people behind those accounts you are thinking of just returned to rageposting on twitter, then yeah that is a bit sad.
many reasons why they would stop posting such as getting annoyed with others because on nostr telling them the truth is possible without getting banned, and that's something people aren't used it, so they are forced to hear the truth and it hurts them, or maybe they got bored, social media gets boring after a while, there's more fun things to do in real life like party with friends or, maybe they are taking a break, or many other reasons but it's actually more organic then X and replies are more then X, nostr rocks regardless if they left

Had to look that up: "Cliquey = tending to form or hold exclusive groups and so not welcoming to outsiders." Definitely! We can make it more open though, there's always that possibility. I think it's changing to be honest. Some curation would definitely help too, some interesting debates/conversations, etc. Tags to follow those debates. Like for example: #conversation #asknostr #debate #debatenostr #political #politics Something like this? A combination that always has great discussions at all times? :D

testing zaps for this note… we made six attempts to⚑zap this note, at bitcoinculturefestival@geyser.fund, over a period of 20 minutes. six of the zaps were successfully paid... please check for 6 satoshis received. problem: we found that your lightning address server **did not* properly produce zap receipts, and/or didn't send the zap receipts to the relays specified in the zap. (the zap spec requires that the zap receipts be sent to the relays specified in the zap.) this means a nostr user who zaps you might not see a number appearing next to the ⚑ icon after zapping.... also fyi... your server at geyser.fund is responsible for creating your zap invoices, and we found that it responded slowly... invoice generation took an average of 2905ms (2.9 seconds). we consider this slow... generally, zap invoices should be created in under one second. if you wanted to fix this... you could try getting a free rizful lightning address --

Absolutely. I think the cool thing that can happen here are long-form out of the box conversations between all kinds of people. You know, really high resolution conversations that offend everybody on the left and right. Like for example being pro-UBI, Bitcoin, Swiss democracy, etc. Stuff that is very political and requires long form, civil, uncensorable communication. Overcoming the left and right barriers, norms, current ideas, etc. Really building/discussing ideas. I really like that kind of content but I don't see much (any) of it here. It would be really cool to have that kind of debate/conversation here. That debate happens on Reddit currently. It would be really cool if it started happening here. I think this is how we bring Reddit here too eventually. This is what interests me at least, high resolution conversations with good spirited people that really want to think and build something together. What interests you? What would you like to see on Nostr? What would you guys like to see on Nostr?
It sorts the wheat from the chaff. It reveals who's a larper and who's a ride-and-die (this is helpful information to have). It keeps Nostr pure, high signal. Personally, I'd be content with it never growing any bigger than this. It's active enough. Anyone that thinks otherwise likely has warped expectations borne from the sheer size of the current mainstream social media swamps. Adjust expectations accordingly.
