I GET THAT IT IS WEIRD WE TALK ABOUT NOSTR SO MUCH ON NOSTR. THIS DOES NOT REALLY HAPPEN ON CENTRALIZED SOCIALIZED PLATFORMS. THE DIFFERENCE IS PEOPLE HAVE A VOICE HERE. YOU CAN BUILD ON THIS PROTOCOL. WITHOUT PERMISSION. THAT IS FUCKING BEAUTIFUL. KEEP TALKING. KEEP BUILDING. TOGETHER WE BUILD THE FUTURE.

True, back in 2007 when I joined Twitter we even had Twitter real life events about Twitter. A bit similar as now at #Nostriga. The big difference is we are talking about an open protocol and NIPs instead of a platform and APIs. But if you look even further back in time, the nineties with internet protocols such as email and http, there were mailinglists, IRC and so were we talked about open protocols. Unfortunately those open protocols are now mostly claimed by central parties.
We talk about nostr, because we care about nostr, because we are freedom weirdos who obsess about freedom. It's like people who are addicted to a video game, except instead of peeing in Gatorade bottles, we actively focus on keeping a platform alive for the dipshits who don't know that they need it yet.

I can think of multiple business models that can use Nostr and grow the network at the same time. Wedding Photography, where people who join Nostr can see the photos and pay for the ones they like the most. Media coverage where photos, stories and videos are automatically uploaded to the globe, and people who appreciate the news can help pay for it immediately.
