I’ve heard that about bitcoin mining. The question is, does bitcoin mining also produce PM2.5, described in the article as extremely bad for health (“non-threshold”, no safe level). Also, I think with large bitcoin mining sites, it’s a lot more possible to use ‘stranded energy’ or depending on the country, geothermal sources.
