The decision—reportedly driven by Under Secretary of Defense for Policy Elbridge Colby—came after a Pentagon review raised alarms about declining stockpiles of critical munitions, according to three sources familiar with the matter who spoke to Politico. As a result, upcoming shipments are expected to be paused for several key weapons systems, including PAC-3 “Patriot” surface-to-air missiles, 155mm artillery shells, Guided Multiple Launch Rocket Systems (GMLRS), FIM-92 “Stinger” missiles, AIM-7 “Sparrow” air-to-air missiles, and AGM-114 “Hellfire” missiles.

Politico, citing sources: The Pentagon has halted missile and ammunition shipments to Ukraine for fear that US stockpiles could fall to critical levels.
