Iranian journalist Omid Habibinia: "I have received multiple reports from various parts of Tehran that Basij forces, fleeing from the people, have opened fire in side streets and then escaped. It is reported that several people were Killed Tonight in these shootings, while all main streets were held by the people."
Speaking to reporters at the White House earlier, President Donald J. Trump again warned that the United States could intervene in Iran if the government resorts to mass violence against protesters. β€œIran is in big trouble. It looks like the people are taking over cities that nobody thought possible just a few weeks ago. We’re watching this very closely,” Trump said, adding that if authorities begin killing demonstrators, β€œwe will get involved and hit them very hard where it hurts.”
