Are there really people on Nostr that want to let Google back up all their nostr notes?
It's great to see experimentation, of course, but this feels like a Werewolf experimenting in silver bullets...

Maybe it's not for everyone, but for those of us who post publicly and have an old Google account hanging around, this is fantastic.

You don't need to go through Google to get access to data already being published to public relays. Hope this helps!

Could it be that everything will be on Google servers and not in your account? Could it be that your data will be safer there?
Still hesitating to link my npub with my google account. On the other hand... I might have done that with Primal, Wavlake and Fountain already π€

You signin with your Google Account, and then it's a Nostr Relay that saves your events to Google Drive so you have a backup copy of them.
If you have a copy of your events, you can import them into Nostr apps and restore them to relays in case of failure.
Its basically a low barrier of entry way for the average user to backup their own data using a familiar tool and account they probably already have.
