Louder for the people in the back!
NOSTR IS NOT YOUR BACKUP IDENTITY.
NOSTR IS YOUR IDENTITY.
No one can take from me ππ
ok but it is also a really great backup to have if its not primary
Until your nsec gets compromised.

THANK YOU
Nostr is us.
NOSTR is my identity.
I can verify who I am, so you donβt have to trust the government.
So can I have your national insurance card?
Sure, I go private π
Just say, Mike sent you.
Cheers!

Provided your nsec is not transmitted by a nostr client and all message signing is client-side, the private key should be safe. The operative word, of course, is should.
Accounts get compromised all around the world, all the time. If it's just one of your many accounts, the damage is limited. But if it's your one and only nsec, and you use it all over the place, that's going to suck, a lot.
Agreed. I was simply saying if the nsec is limited to the client such as primal to login when you want to post notes, it should be safe.

That's why I pay for my premium account because this is going to hold so much value in the future... I am who I say I am .
I have a very large pwnis
This is why I have always been hesitant to start a online identity/business.
I've seen countless people work extremely hard to build a following, only to be banned by big tech websites.
Big tech websites can destroy your whole life work in a second. It was never worth it to start.
Now that we have nostr. Your followers will always be here. We just need a YouTube replacement now.
We do need a YouTube alternative. I wish flare.pub wasn't abandoned.
So sad. The grinder told me about that site recently. He must not know it's abandoned. I was wondering why the majority of the videos wouldn't load.
The UI looked nice and looked like a promising site, I'm sure a new one will pop up eventually.
100% true. X permanently suspended me. Left shock waves. Was grateful I'd already been using Nostr before hand.

Great to see @Saifedean Ammous back nevertheless
As an npub maximalist, I long for Nostr (the collective network) to help solve key delegation and rotation. Having my entire online existence tied to something that's one inadvertent copy/paste away from disintegration makes me clench my butt cheeks every time I need to use it.
The fact that anything posted here will stick to "my identity" potentially for all of eternity seems very very dangerous to me.
