Nostr is less engaging than Twitter.
This is a feature. The death cult eyeball hooks that keep you doom scrolling for hrs on corporate platforms just don't exist in nostr. You hop on, check in, read a few interesting posts, then hop off and go touch grass π

Hmm. It is less engaging (true), and thus you log in less often - and will miss a lot of posts, potentially some of the (few) really interesting ones.
I would love a For You algo feed on Nostr, then i can literally just check every few days and check what I missed
In amethyst it has "my follows" feed which is where I spend most of my time, as I can easily catch up.
I also predominantly (well, only) use My Follows.
But if I only log in every few days I will almost certainly miss some interesting post from my follows -- which in turn raises "frustration" w nostr
I would totally use an algo feed that's just the popular posts and discussions from my follows since my last login
Exactly. Most shit on X has 0 signal and is filled with mind fuck but Nostr is still fairly new compared to X so lets see how thigs will go in 5 years.
I'm sure it will be more engaging eventually, with all the tools that are emerging, but without centrally planned eyeball hooks the black hat engagement tools (thankfully) don't exist here π€

I understand that and I can feel it.
but there are some accounts / identities here spamming my feed with unfunny memes and bots. it kinda is annoying a little. donβt know how to block or mute them (i tried to mute with Primal, but so far the effect wasnβt great)
I hear good things about primal, but perhaps try different client. I use amethyst and have never had such an experience.
This is exactly what I do. I scroll whatβs been trending the last 12 24 hours then go about my day
The biggest disadvantage of nostr is that there are no mass brawls like on X.
I also miss the announcements!
