A Columbia University graduate student and greencard holder faces deportation simply for organizing a protest against Israel's Gaza campaign. ICE is aggressively moving to revoke his permanent residency based solely on his peaceful protest. Even more disturbing, Trump has threatened to strip citizenship from others. This outrageous assault on fundamental rights should terrify anyone who values free speech in America!

It is just you. You can read about this story online. No blackmail, no extortion or whatever you’re making up. Meanwhile the rest of us will be continuing to oppose the genocide. At least we can agree that people shouldn’t come to a place as guests and then proceed to steal land or bomb universities or hospitals or bulldoze homes or destroy the entire country and then make demands for everyone who lives there to leave.

In most countries a permanent resident has almost all the rights of a citizen. In the US they’re allowed to donate to political campaigns and hold local elected office. They part of the system not visitors. As a permanent resident in Aotearoa New Zealand I can vote just like citizens. Free speech rights extend to everyone regardless of immigration status.
Further, i don't know what the war has to do with this topic or my original point. No one is talking about the war here, as this man chose to move to the USA with full knowledge that the USA is a supporter of Israel as its the only place in the middle east where people can coexist regardless of faith. Hence the 2M Palestinians living with Israeli passports in Israel.
If it were up to me I wouldn't deport him. I wouldn't want him to be the rallying cry for the leftists & I wouldn't want to make him famous. But to be honest, if you're gonna be a green card holder you should be smarter if you actually didn't want this to be a potential outcome. This makes me think that he wanted this to happen because he seems like a smart fellow. He didn't simply protest though, His wife's words: "When things started at Columbia, his main role was the lead negotiator [between student protesters and Columbia administrators.]"
It's fucking disgusting. I'm embarrassed that they would go this far to protect the Israeli lobby. What the fuck is happening here and does it mean the tide has to go to the other extreme before pulling back? We saw what happened with Wokeness, this is now Wokeness from the Right
Under U.S. immigration law, a green card can be revoked if the holder is found to have engaged in activities that threaten national security, support terrorism, or violate the terms of their residency. Similarly, a student visa can be canceled for criminal behavior or overstaying its purpose. The government’s case likely hinges on Section 212(a)(3) of the Immigration and Nationality Act, which bars individuals who have engaged in terrorist activities or are affiliated with terrorist organizations, broadly defined to include ideological support or incitement.
He literally led an extortion campaign against the University. Look it up & start being honest. They phrase it as "led negotiations" but in reality they were trespassing on private property and then blackmailing / extorting the school to do their bidding.
