These are the best moments. I’ll never never forget when I picked up my son early from the kindergarten and on the way out he pulled me to the fence and screamed to his friends pointing at me: - Friends, this is my dad! Friends, this is my dad! Enjoy they grow fast 🤙
I don't know why but his post made me melt too... I like to reflect at the end of every year, and I had pinged my son about a couple things that stood out as good times we had shared in the year (including him showing up on father's day, unannounced after a 3 hour drive from his place.)... his response was "don't forget about the excavating projects we worked on"... that melted me. kids can drive you crazy at times but they can also take you to wonderful spaces that no one else can... and a healthy relationship with your kids is gold. kudos to odell for being a pro-father, pro-family figure with a big mic and sharing his experiences. Took my son this morning to the driving range to play/practice golf. Told him the main objective was to have FUN and make some memories. He said "Dad I always have FUN with you," He then told me the last time we did this and to the specifics of the day....same melted heart
When my little girl was four, she was really into a kids’ math show. One night after her lullaby, she told me she loved me a “sideways eight.” There are no adequate words to describe the feelings in those moments.
I had a similar moment recently. My daughter had her first loose tooth and was so excited about losing it. One morning at around 5, she wakes us all up. She goes “ guys, I have exciting news.” “I LOST MY TOOTH.” I just smiled. That’s why I love being a Dad.
