My wife and I just throw a somewhat risky "get to know your neighbors" party in our apartment. Nobody knew each other in spite of living just a few feet away. Whole floor invited. Everybody came. Very different backgrounds, lots of fun just telling stories. A 3hr party became 6hrs. Huge success.
A good reminder that good things do happen when you give them a chance.

Cool we need more local communities π
A Open mind ist often fruitful.
Social interaction.
That's outstanding! I remember having block parties when I was growing up in the seventies and we'd block off the street and everyone would bring picnic tables and grills out and enjoy time together. Having a hard time imagining doing that now. Good for you and your wife!
Very nice decision from opsec point of view π
Love it!
Wonderful, but don't make the failure to repeat it! Wait at least 1 or two years.
THIS IS INSANE... Hear me out... I just bumped into a press release about a launch of an online dating site, Frisky Silvers, for old people. There was something about the name (Frisky Silvers) that it stuck with me. So, when I read your post, I mistakenly read βriskyβ as βfriskyβ.

I thought to myself that βwow, that was one crazy idea that could have ended up really badly for you and your wife, but thank God the whole building is full of swingers or swinger wannabesβ.
I read through some of the first comments, like β¦
DreMik: "Wonderful, but don't make the failure to repeat it! Wait at least 1 or two years.β
Connie: βLove it!β

β¦ and after reading them I still thought that you had decided to throw βa somewhat frisky get to know your neighbors partyβ.
It was only after I read the fourth comment (Dad Guyβs comment) that I decided to re-read your post.
Wow, what a crazy rollercoaster of emotions...
Anyway, congratulations on the party!
