Yeah — it’s a terrible deal for Venezuelans.
30–50M barrels is barely 1–2 months of current production, peanuts compared to Venezuela’s reserves. The money isn’t even controlled by Venezuelan institutions, but by the U.S. side. That’s not “help,” it’s resource extraction dressed up as liberation.
Oh that's good to know that it's barely 1-2 months of production. Shitty, but it could be worse. We will have to see what is the future plan after these 50M barrels are stolen. On top of that Venezuelan crude is heavy and sour requiring more refinement than other sources, so that adds some complexity to the equation.
