Summary of the state/fiat system in my country, I suppose it will be similar in all countries.
- You are born and have to register as a slave.
- Then you have to get an ID card and pay your first taxes, you pay to register as a slave.
- When you work for someone else, you pay income tax, social security tax, pension deficit tax, and unemployment tax.
- If you also work for yourself, then you pay a tax for working, the self-employed contribution.
- If you have a company, you pay corporate tax and you pay taxes for each person you hire and you pay for all your profits. In addition, as an entrepreneur, you have to assign yourself a salary and you pay taxes for paying yourself that salary and you also pay taxes as the recipient of the salary.
- When you buy anything, you pay 21% VAT.
- When you sell anything, you also have to pay if you have made a profit of between 19 and 30%.
- Every time you renew your driver's license or ID card, you have to pay fees again.
- You pay road tax for every vehicle you own.
- You pay taxes on every property you own.
- You pay garbage and sewer taxes for every property you own.
- You pay taxes on the land you own.
- When you buy alcohol, more than 80% is tax.
- When you buy gasoline, more than 80% is tax.
- When you buy a vehicle, more than 50% is tax.
- If you own stocks, gold, Bitcoin, or anything else and you sell it at a profit, you have to pay tax.
- When you sell a house, you have to pay tax on the profit you have made, as well as municipal capital gains tax, i.e., you pay tax for the entire time you have owned the house.
- The person who buys the house has to pay ITP (property transfer tax) if it is second-hand (10%) or VAT if it is new (10%).
- To register a property in your name, you have to pay the property registry and the fees associated with the deeds.
- As a company, you are also subject to a lot of municipal taxes, and as a large company, you are also subject to CO2 tax.
- You pay a lot of different taxes on electricity.
- You pay wealth tax if your wealth exceeds a certain threshold (500k/1M).
- You pay taxes on second homes.
These are the ones that come to mind right now, but there are many more.
But the best part is that after all this crap, you die and have to pay more taxes. All your heirs will be taxed on everything they inherit as if it were income.

Some more examples. The Dutch government taxes you over your wealth. They assume you make 4% ROI and tax you 30% over that.
Which wealth? Your capital in the banking system?
Your โฌ in the bank, your Shares and any other assets.
They are even discussing including the house you live in. So you will pay wealth tax on the house you live in as if it is a income.
But the roi of your โฌ in the bank do not need to estimated. The bank sends an exact report of your capital earnings, doesn't it?
Taxing other assets like homes or imposing any other not realised gains tax is becoming quite common, I'm afraid. States are broke, and they are picking up the theft pace.
They assume 4% ROI. So it is not triggered by a sale as capital gains. Let us say you have โฌ100k above the minimum threshold in the bank. They assume you made โฌ4k and will tax you 30% over that.
If they included your house equity as they want then you will be hit really hard.
Thereโs a line from a 3 doors down song that seems fitting ,โso you call this your free country, tell me why it costs so much to liveโ.
As a former legal immigrant to that country, I'll add:
- Fees for every step of the process to be absorbed into the state: original visa application fee, often legal fees on top of that, then ID photo and fingerprinting fees every 1-2 years, renewal fees every 1-2 years, and for some, black-market fees to get a renewal appointment without having to wait six months (5 years ago this was 300 eur)
- A special form and punishing fees aimed at people who had money abroad; when I left, the state could fine you 10k eur for a single mistake on that form
- If I retired, my foreign pension would be taxed as earned income
I forgot another detail: As an immigrant, I was required to go to a literal jail to renew my visa. We all passed through security to enter the jail compound, stood in line in the jail exercise yard, and entered the jail building to submit our forms and fingerprints.
You can step out of that system once you learn about the biggest lie of the world.
It took me several years of preparations and learning. Is not easy and is a continuous battle with the system and you have to learn how to fight with their own weapons against the system.
But the final nail in the coffin was Bitcoin. Without Bitcoin you cannot exit the system.
The problem is that even that I am "out of the system" somehow, ikt doesn't serve too much if the majority of people are still in the "hamster wheel". Yeah, I am a sovereign individual, but alone. Maybe there are few others spread across the world but that doesn't help too much.
I've explained all that "journey" in some of my guides and posts on SN.

INTRODUCTION Today I reached 21 000 total items posted on Stacker News! And also today is October 21, 2024. WOW I was surprised mnyself seeing that...
It's still early, there will come a time when we will be legion.
That can't be my goal as an altruist ๐. But I know that when the system collapses, lot's of politicians will naturally pay for the pain they brought. Karma will do it's job, but it takes time ๐
.
๐คฏ itโs mind boggling how stupid, wrong and senseless it is to participate in the modern welfare state as a netto taxpayer.
The fact that you remember these... + CO2, I think I know the country you're talking to ๐
.
Wow.
Thanks for sharing Cyp3r, my govt sucks but we only have 2/3rds of that.
Every population needs bitcoin, but some need it more...
What happens when the population cannot pay the taxes? We are getting closer to that reality.
This isnโt a tax system, itโs a permissions system. Youโre allowed to live as long as you keep paying rent to the State.
For the people right? Right?
