Very sad and disturbing but many bitcoiners/ some with big accounts / are plain stupid. They drink propaganda like cool aid. They cheer Maduro being literally kidnapped by Trump just like they cheer Zionist Milei who is selling them cheap bullshit. Too many bitcoiners are simping on politicians praying for them to do something so the fiat value of bitcoin goes up. Same with thing with Iran which they know nothing about but if Trump says we fighting the regime they cheer for bombing Iran. In the same time Israel slaughters Gaza for two years straight and bitcoiners have nothing to say about it.
Myself, I'm very hopeful. I see a rising awareness of the crimes of the Jewish power structure, especially since their slaughter in Gaza began. It's especially hopeful to see more and more people, including so many bitcoiners, see the connection between that power structure and the evil, corrupt financial system. Don't bother counting your enemies, they've long ago reached saturation level among their own Tribe and the easily deluded, and can't grow much. Instead, count your friends, the number of whom is going up every day.
The racists are useful idiots here. By spreading their BS they make it socially unacceptable to call out Israel. For people with certain appearance especially, saying Israel did something wrong could be social suicide. As long as the racists persist regular people will feel uncomfortable speaking up. Good job racists, you are giving them the power to do all the things you fear by being dipshits.
It should be self evident I would think that any time anyone talks about any country, they are talking about the elected or unelected leadership and not all people. I talk shit about US all the time and I’m clearly not talking about the average person living out their lives. To say that it’s somehow racist to call out a country as a whole is just buying into the propaganda.
The US is very mixed race. Try it with Chinese, Japanese, or Somali and people will line up to call you racist there too. I think Israel's leadership is actively exploiting that while the other 3 aren't. Government exists through consent of the governed. Maybe not all the governed but enough are playing along that they get to continue. In that way the government is always a reflection of the people as a whole. I don't consent or approve of my government but I know that many fellow citizens do or we'd break out the guillotines.
I get you, many in bitcoin disappoint me in their views, not as bad as altcoiners, but sometimes I wonder... I see a lot of hope in bitcoin though. Look at all the projects such as Fedi and Cashu, Lightning gets more reliable, bitchat, etc. (I know we get Monero bros shilling their alt on here, but without any widescale adoption, do any of them even build apps on their little platform? I always wonder about that...) But, keep on keeping on
I think a lot of people are sympathetic to Venezuelans being liberated from dictatorship and hyperinflation. While US intervention isnt ideal in theory, this is a chance to do redefine their future. People are cheering for that. How is anyone gonna be mad when the first ones to be concerned are ecstatic about it?
Ironically, people cheer for freedom even if it comes at the expense of geopolitical moves that fly way above their heads. While state violence isn't an absolute good, it can liberate people from more senseless and chaotic violence. I can tell you that in Brazil people cheer when the police guns down narcos and violent criminals, despite what NGOs and foreign human rights will say. No one will complain of state violence there.
I am a nationalist and America is my nation. I am not a universalist nor a globalist. I want what is best for Americans and I want America placed first. China was setting up shop in LatAm, having it's own "opium war" against the US, and these greasy countries were cooperating to enrich themselves. This is our hemisphere and China deserved to be embarrassed in this way and Venezuela deserves to become a vassal to the US, which is much better for their people than being owned by cartels and China. Long, even medium term, after reset, I see #Bitcoin replacing the current fiat order, but I do not see "the war machine" ever going way, since the nature of war is being commodified by drones and AI. I remember buying bitcoin shirts many years ago and being kinda proud to wear them. Then i realized that one day bitcoin would just be money, nothing special, and shirts with Bitcoin would be like wearing a dollar sign shirt todayβ€”a little gauche. Not everyone in Bitcoin is in it for the cypher punk sound money utopia anymore and that’s ok, that’s what winning looks like.
I noticed that too. We should be wiser and more aware. There are no good guys in Fiat Land. They are all bad actors simply under different flags, different political systems and different ideologies. Being a bitcoiner allows us to look beyond all that and see it simply as noise from a broken and dying Fiat world. Not good, not bad, not worth our concern.
Yes itβ€˜s not the police of the world. Yet, the US turned from β€špolice of the world’ to β€šbullying hegemonβ€˜ who doesnβ€˜t give a shit about optics anymore. You are right, they donβ€˜t give a shit. But itβ€˜s better to be dependent on a somewhat benevolent hegemon like the US who has proven to show mercy to former opponents (Germany) than getting robbed for sure by other powers who for sure were supporting current policies (RuZZia and the Chinese).
Totally agreed. It's not even "the end justifies the means" situation, because we're very far from knowing the actual 'end'. And dont get me wrong, i value what Venezuelans feel about him, but it's most probably a temporary byproduct of the situation. brings to memory how some Iraqis reacted to the fall of Saddam, before suffering for the following 20 years
Well, which is better: A despot destroying his country through totalitarianism that allows major crime to flourish, or a despot who cracks down on petty crime while allowing major crimes to flourish? One is Maduro, the other is Trump. Gonna have to deal with one or the other.
I've seen Bitcoiners happy to drink leftist tears rather than for the regime change tbh. Most Bitcoiners are just witnessing the mafias playing their games. It's entertaining and for once civilian collateral damage are not such a big a thing which is the most important point. Always good to see a communist scum in jail, even if it doesn't guarantee big changes for the people
