Think home heaters, surplus from residential solar panels, etc.
Large-scale mining operations that require building new infrastructure are often a scam, though not always. @Joe Nakamoto has shown solid examples in Africa. The key point is that local communities should receive electricity first, and only the surplus should be used to mine Bitcoin as a last resort.
Burning oil, coal, or other polluting sources just to mine BTC is irresponsible, even if it makes financial sense.
How do I get rid of such spam accounts that "follow" me 15 times a day?
