its also something I have no control over. I mean I guess I could stop building stuff, stop posting and go live in the jungle, but I love interacting online. its a lot of fun and I learn a lot from different people's perspectives.

I'm not an influencer is just shorter way of saying I'm small, tiny and completely insignificant influencer and my influence is minute.
There are a lot of aspiring influencers in this space who have never built or done anything that wasn’t in service of expanding their own influence.
That’s the distinction for me.
In my mind, an influencer is someone who is paid or receives some kind of benefit from a third-party to promote something whether they like it or not. (they are biased, have weak morals, are disingenuous, and often have ulterior motives). Someone who is genuinely passionate, knowledgable, experienced about something can also influence others but it’s rooted in honesty and authenticity. The hard part is discerning between the two types of “influence”.

There *are* times when ‘noisy’ stuff can be a downer. … but I think it’s also relatively easy to avoid.
I think a good way is to start with a few people or things you really admire, and go from there. Keep things limited.

We all influence someone. Some just have more influence and reach than others.
Reach is more important that most realize.
