Today was again my first time... now using 1inch, because MetaMask default swap for some reason didn't work for me, so I wasted like 2 dollars on fees trying and failing.. 💁🏻♂️
More importantly, however, I just placed my first bets on #Polymarket.
- multiple shorts on those Iran bastards
- short on that asshole Orban
- long Greenland staying in Denmark
Same strategy as fun sport bets so far. Few bucks on what I (want to) believe. 🫀

What a year huh?
I decided in 2026 I will convince merchants and people of my village to discover and accept BTC.
The current plan is following:
1) Organize a Meetup #1 in our hall. First the basics, like What is money, Why is our money broken, How Bitcoin solves it, My journey, How to figure out own stacking strategy, What tools to use.
2a) Meetups would then continue just as a community hobby.
2b) Dedicated workshop with demonstration of setting up cold storage.
3) Onboarding individual merchants to lightning.
4) Assist merchants before/during/after large events like festivals.
5) The festival I already organize in July could serve as first whole BTC event.
6) Add other villages.

Do you have any tips? Have you tried something similar in your community? Am I missing something?
Would you suggest any specific tools? Why not to begin straight with #Cashu ? Is it smart to set up my own node for those purposes?
We are like 1000 inhabitants.

Very interesting points made. Would you agree, that if the goal is not to defeat the state, we might rather help it adapt? Asking for a friend 😊
Chapter 1: Of course it all began by discovering Bitcoin. I found out about it probably around 2012, my classmate was into IT already and told me about it.
I am convinced it got my attention and I probably tried to search for more information, maybe even downloaded some client. That were literally all my computer skills at the time, since I was like 13. Then I forgot about it for another few years.
As Saylor says, everybody gets it for the price each one deserves...
Next time I didn't use my opportunity was around in 2016 maybe, when I bought for the few bucks I was able to send somewhere over the internet. Then sold with a loss and forgot about it again.
I am very proud of one thing in this regard. Probably thanks to my parents, education I had, access to a PC, maybe even presence in Czech Republic, even at that age it got my attention. I didn't understand, but it was just fascinating, when I heard that in a certain places you can pay with this internet money.
Finally, in 2019 I started to study Bitcoin.
This is just to say, and to remind myself too, that it's never too late. I wasn't early skin in the game. No achievements there. But maybe more important metrics is - how early do you realize at least some of the consequences?
In next chapters, I might continue with the story. More importantly I would like to write and discuss, here on Nostr, the concrete consequences.
I believe we are still scratching the surface. Yes, the tech already built is amazing. I'm no technician unfortunately. I think we are scratching the surface mainly of social consequences.
There is lot more opportunities and effects coming. If you are interested too, follow me.
I believe you might find some value in my thoughts, since I partly come from "the opposite side".
Wish you all the best in 2026!
Marketing is fascinating in this regard. My most used loyalty program would be Bageterie Boulevard's "Every fifth for 1/2 price". 10% deduction in fact, but the admin scheme behind must be robust...
This year I will begin creating content for Nostr and make it my primal social media channel. *Mic drop into silence*
