I started reading "Built to Move" by Juliet and Kelly Starrett, after it popped up as a recommendation in three different orbits of my life. They describe ten vital signs with corresponding simple exercises to improve them. This book is for everyone, in all stages of life. It's definitely a path to the #goodlife, if you manage to be consistent and disciplined. I, for sure, am giving my best. 💪 image
"That it will never come again is what makes life so sweet." -- Emily Dickinson #wisdom #spirituality #philosophy #goodlife
image I came across the Happiness Grid by Shinzen Young, which is kind of like a periodic table for #happiness. Might be interesting to score yourself to see how far along you are on the path to the #goodlife.
"The most difficult times for many of us are the ones we give ourselves." -- Pema Chödrön #wisdom #spirituality #philosophy #goodlife
It's refreshing that there are people like Hester Peirce in governmental roles of power. Thanks @nat brunell for bringing to light such an amazing display of humility and love for service. Especially the end of the conversation is heartwarming, though a bit sad that she can't participate in the #bitcoin economy herself. At least for now.
I had a chance encounter with Peter Diamandis recently and it made my day. I've been following his work for years. He's such an inspiration and leverages real world observations and data to predict the #goodlife for all of us within our lifetimes. His ideas are full of optimism, hope and #wisdom and empower lots of entrepreneurs to make his vision a reality. If you don't know his work, you should check it out. I recommend starting with the book Abundance.
"Many people strive for efficient lives, where no hour is wasted. But an overlooked skill that doesn't get enough attention is the idea that wasting time can be a great thing." -- Morgan Housel "The secret to doing good research is always to be a little underemployed. You waste years by not being able to waste hours." -- Amos Tversky #wisdom #spirituality #philosophy #goodlife
"Wisdom tells me I am nothing. Love tells me I am everything. Between the two my life flows." -- Nisargadatta Maharaj
"The more you reduce your daily life-maintenance tasks, the greater the bandwidth available for creative decisions." -- Rick Rubin Actually not just for creative decisions, but for anything ... more available time is never a bad thing, you never know what comes up, if you allow the space for it. A related quote from Ryan Holiday: "If you can afford to, delegate it. If you can’t yet afford to, automate it. Time is the most precious resource." #wisdom #spirituality #philosophy #goodlife
"A common trait of human behavior is the burning desire for certainty despite living in an uncertain and probabilistic world." -- Morgan Housel A difficult but useful skill to master is to be with uncertainty, to not rush to fix things immediately, to let them simmer for a while. Sometimes issues fix themselves, saving you time and energy, if only you could tolerate a little bit of uncertainty and chaos. It's a hard one for me, but I try to work on my chaos tolerance as best as I can. #wisdom #spirituality #philosophy #goodlife
