It's true: I've joined @Glyph, @Chris is., @Amethyst 🌸 and [@petrillic]( ) in gift-matching donations to @Python Software Foundation I've done gift matching before, because I think the PSF is doing tremendous work and I want more people to realize that. I was planning on doing gift matching for the end-of-year, but this way we get to share the load of the bookkeeping... by which I mean, send proof of your donations to Glyph πŸ˜…
Well! I guess this year will be the first year I'll be actively recommending people *not* vote for one of the candidates for PSF Board! (I hadn't gotten around to reading all the nomination statements yet.) I guess we're finally getting more diverse candidates πŸ˜‚
I posted this last week, asking for #Python users to fill out a silly little survey: I got quite a few responses! Almost 300 at this point. I can use this! It'll be hilarious! I can still use more answers, though, because some of the answers are much more spread out than I expected, even after cleaning up and consolidating. I hope with a few more responses I get more obvious standouts answers. Please fill out the survey if you haven't :)
A little palette cleanser to distract myself (and maybe you) from all the terrible, sad, frustrating news of late: Demi spooning with Akio. (As usual, Akio wasn't really involved in the spooning. He was sleeping there, and then Demi decided it was time for cuddles and wedged herself between his paws. Look at her satisfied little face though!) #SavannahCat #CatsOfMastodon
As a non-macOS person, I need to #AskFedi for some advice on macmini network issues. I get frequent (every couple of minutes), short (a few seconds) of network disconnects, both when using WiFi and wired ethernet. The same cable works fine for other hardware, including mac laptop. Where do I go to debug this? What (cmdline) tools are there to inspect statuses and review logs? Where do I learn about those things for #macOS? (I'm away from the machine right now, can get to the GUI next week.)
