Angeline Berva is rewriting the rulebook on strength โ€“ and doing it her way. At the Static Monsters World Championships on 24 August 2025, the five-time French champion returned to defend her world title and absolutely crushed it. She lifted 105 kg in the log lift, ten kilos more than any other competitor, then stunned the field with a colossal 301 kg axle deadlift โ€“ a world record in her category โ€“ and totaled 406 kg, winning by a massive 61 kg margin! Whatโ€™s more, in early August 2025, Angeline became Europeโ€™s Strongest Woman (82.5 kg category) after winning the Official Strongman European Championships. ๐Ÿ™Œ Vegan since age 17, Angeline continues to prove that a plant-based diet and elite-level performance are not just compatible, they can excel. What an inspiration! ๐ŸŒฑ๐Ÿ’ช ๐Ÿ‘‰ Read more about her incredible win: #Vegan #VeganAthlete #PlantPowered #GreatVeganAthletes #VeganStrength #VeganStrongwoman image

Last month, Sahyuri Lalime (Sahy) from Belgium smashed her first World Record at the European Open Classic Powerlifting Championship in Mรกlaga, Spain! ๐Ÿ’ช๐ŸŒฑ She set a new World Record in the Squat for the M1 63kg division with an incredible 182.5kg lift โ€“ nearly three times her body weight! ๐Ÿ˜ฒ๐Ÿ”ฅ Even more impressively, Sahy broke 11 records at the competition, including the M1 European record for total across all lifts. Absolute powerhouse! A committed vegan for around ten years (and vegetarian for 12 before that), Sahyโ€™s decision to stop eating animals stems from deep compassion: โ€œ[It is] based purely on not wanting to kill animals. Having experienced the trauma of losing my mother when I was kid, I became very sensitive to death and didnโ€™t want to take part in bringing that type of pain and suffering to others.โ€ ๐ŸŒŸ Congratulations Sahy on this epic performance โ€“ we can't wait to see what you conquer next! ๐Ÿ‘‰ Learn more: Thinking about going vegan? Bird Flu Crisis in Australia: Egg Shortages & Soaring Prices ๐Ÿšจ Australia is facing yet another bird flu outbreak, leading to the culling of over 2.1 million innocent hens. But beyond rising egg prices and supermarket shortages, this crisis exposes deeper issues within the egg industryโ€”animal suffering, disease risks, and unsustainable practices. ๐Ÿซจ The Ethical Toll of Culling Birds One of the most distressing consequences of this outbreak is the mass killing of birds. In Australia, flocks are culled using carbon dioxide gas, which can take up to 20 minutes to ensure death, or water-based foam, causing asphyxiation. These culls not only highlight the ethical dilemmas of using animals for food but also expose the high disease risks of animal agriculture. Such outbreaks demonstrate how industrial farming conditions can create environments where diseases spread rapidly, affecting both animal and human health. ๐Ÿ’ก The Solution? A Better Way Forward ๐ŸŒฑ ๐ŸŒฑPlant-based alternatives offer an ethical, sustainable, and health-conscious solution. ๐ŸŒฑ โœ”๏ธ Healthier & Safer: Unlike eggs, which are high in cholesterol, many plant-based alternatives provide protein without the saturated fats and cholesterol linked to heart disease. They also eliminate the risk of salmonella and antibiotic residues found in intensively farmed poultry. ๐Ÿฃ Prevent Future Outbreaks: Choose plant-based egg alternatives. With egg-free options gaining popularity, now is the perfect time to make the switch to vegan living, to protect our health, safeguard animals, and promote a more sustainable future. ๐Ÿฅž Want to know the best egg substitutes for baking, scrambling, and more? From Powerlifting to Strongwoman: this is Veronique Cormier's journey to a national Canadian record in the most iconic of strongman events โ€“ the Atlas Stone. 57kg lifter Veronique, quickly made a mark on powerlifting with a raw squat well over double bodyweight, a raw total over six times bodyweight and World Championship qualification. Since then sheโ€™s added a national title in strongwoman. Veronique has been training hard with the atlas stones, and was keen to work on the 100kg one โ€“ approaching double her weight. It wasnโ€™t easy, although she went from being barely able to get it off the ground to lifting it over the bar in training. The recent Canadian Nationals gave her a chance to try all aspects of her strength, followed by a record attempts session. Admitting to a weakness in deadlifts she managed 9 x 300 lb to win that event, confident it would have been no reps a year ago. She also won a sandbag medley and atlas stone ladder to finish second overall. As if that wasnโ€™t enough, she then attempted the 220lb stone, and cleared the bar. โ€œI worked really hard on stones this prep from not getting the 220 stone more than a few inches off the ground to making it look so easy on the day,โ€ Veronique told Great Vegan Athletes. โ€œThe announcers were convinced I would get 245. Itโ€™s not there yet but definitely the next goal.โ€ Amazing effort Veronique! ๐ŸŒฑ๐Ÿ’ช Read the full article here: Photo credit: @leafylifter #leafylifter #veganstrongwoman #strongmancompetition #vegan4life #plantbuilt #atlasstone #recordbreaker #plantstrong #veganstrong #vegan image
The number of humans on the Earth has exploded, rising from 2.5 billion in the 1950s to 8+ billion in 2024. Now, data shows that as individuals, people are eating more animals than ever. We have extrapolated data from the FAO (The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations) into clear graphs and tables and it puts the use of animals for food into sobering perspective. This is simply not sustainable. With a rising population and the adoption of more animal-based foods, animal agriculture is rapidly destroying the earth and making life a living hell for the animals on this planet. ๐Ÿ“ฃ Please read the article here: Some key points from the FAO data: ๐Ÿ“ˆ Worldwide, animals slaughtered *per person* has nearly tripled in the last 50 years ๐Ÿ“ˆ Land animals slaughtered for consumption increased to over 83 billion per year ๐Ÿ“ˆ Animals killed for consumption increased more than five-fold in the last 50 years The article offers practical suggestions on how we can be part of the solution to this global challenge. ๐ŸŒฑ If you would like help switching to vegan, try our 30 Day Vegan Easy Challenge at: #saveanimals #sustainability #vegan #environment #vegan #govegan #veganfuture #plantbasedtreaty image
