Kure Beach Pier in New Hanover County, NC is deserted at dawn this time of year. The blues and king mackerel runs are over and almost no one wants to stand in the January wind just to catch trash fish.

@drewwiththelongbeard Places I got lost on the AT include Goose Pond in MA and Max Patch in NC. Hella lost - for hours. Sadly, we were a day ahead of Greraldine Largay (Inchworm) in Maine in 2013 when she got lost.

The tree rats of North Carolina hope you have a great weekend. This camera hog right here actually yells at me if I sit on the deck without putting the snacks out first.
