Glas Bheinn - the grey green hill, can be climbed from the A894 near Loch na Gainmhich in less than 2 miles. Or as I chose on Friday, a 5 mile wander from Inchnadamph which passes through normally boggy ground and beside picturesque lochs to the rocky east ridge. contd... #DogsOfMastodon #BorderCollie #HillWalking #ScottishHighlands
It's not the murder of a US healthcare boss that's surprising to me it's that it hasn't happened sooner. The stories I see, mostly on reddit, of Americans with chronic illness being messed about in various ways is horrendous. For all its faults the NHS (E&W, Scot, NI) is a very special thing and we should never let it become privatized or 'insurance based'.
Sunshine was in short supply for yesterday's walk through Coire Dubh Mòr.in Torridon. The aim was to head for Coire Mhic Fhearchair and see how far we got. The ford was fine despite all the overnight rain. But the wind was interesting - mostly 5 mph then I'd hear a 25+ mph gust coming and have to brace as it hit a second later. With a worsening forecast we turned around at the big cairn where the path splits. #Hiking #DogsOfMastodon #ScottishHighlands
There were some lovely reflections in Loch Glascarnoch today. We went looking for some sunshine and weren't disappointed. #Reflections #ScottishHighlands
I don't think Skye was impressed with that weather especially as it was heading for us. Overall the weather wasn't bad. Bit windy over the col of Drochaid Allt Toll Ghiubhais to really hang around otherwise the sunshine was still quite warm. #DogsOfMastodon #ScottishHighlands image
We had a good stroll from the Red Hut, now painted green, to Loch na h-Oidhche. As I was taking a photo Wendy and her dog Cuillin caught me up and we ended up walking much of the day together. She'd forgotten to bring Cuilin's biscuits so Skye shared her lunch, which went down very well. There was a fair breeze coming off the loch making it feel pretty cold. Of course Skye had a good paddle. #ScottishHighlands #DogsOfMastodon
