I saw my first Los Angeles coyote on the way home from an art supply run today! They were trotting on the sidewalk on Oakwood and disappeared around Martel. After I kept walking, a man pulled over to warn me about the coyote, but I told him they had turned up the street. What a nice neighbor, though.
The first coyote I ever saw was in Whittier, which is in northeast L.A. county, but this is my first urban coyote in the county. Most of the coyotes I've seen were in San Francisco. I don't really want them in my neighborhood eating our stray cats, but it does feel like I'm finally being welcomed here.
