Pretty ugly situation with Renee Good in Minnesota. Personally, I wouldn't try drive my huge SUV towards an armed federal agent during a raid. Doesn't make you a "domestic terrorist" though. Whole thing just seems like a huge fuck up. Tragic.
People who say they don't like billionaires because they have too much power should consider whether they think it's better that the state has a monopoly on power with less forces to challenge them (e.g. move taxes, fund political positions, represent an alternative form of power).
The paradox of the US freeing (TBC) Venezuela by force reminds me of Napoleon's early military conquests. He replaced the leadership of many Italian city states, took a large fee from them, but also implemented more representative leaders and more progressive laws. It was a catalyst for Western democracy which we celebrate even if we condemn Napoleon by modern standards for much of his approach. He was hated by the elites of other nations, even while they were also obsessed with him. Ultimately, European monarchs and the British conspired to defeat him, but we still enjoy his legacy today.
"Junk" food advertising ban going into effect today in the UK. This means the actual food can't be shown, but well know brands (McDs, Dominos etc) can still run the ads. Once again regulation benefits large incumbent corporations.
