Today 4th January is World Braille Day Braille is often thought of as being outdated & not used because there's technology instead, however, I personally know people who still use it. They use tech, but there's cases where braille gives autonomy & confidence faster & easier than with tech. Last year Spain made it mandatory for accessible labels on products, braille and/or QR codes, especially on products where it's needed for safety, integrity & quality of life.
Braille must be incorporated into the labelling of products and consumer goods braille labelling
Most of you know, but just in case The fedi, like anywhere on the internet, has scammers Scammers incite panic by mentioning account deletion or freezing On Mastodon, the server owner, server admin & server moderator accounts have profile badges & are the only accounts who can delete, limit or freeze your account completely External admins & mods can only restrict or block accounts from their own server, they cannot system-wide nuke accounts No-one will ask for your password, nor insist you transfer your account to an email address they specify If in doubt talk to your server admin or mod team 🙏 Screenshot showing the owner badge of admin @Tom :damnified: image
