using these room mate sharing apps makes me question whether an average software engineer really has an IQ over 100 ... for example when looking for a renter i can select "non smoking" but it doesn't apply to the renter being non-smoker - it applies to renter requiring ME to be a non smoker ... but why do i care if the renter requires me to be non smoker or not ? i don't smoke. but i don't need a renter who specifically REQUIRES me to not smoke. get it ? i am OK with a renter who doesn't smoke and is OK with me not smoking but doesn't require me to be non smoking. GET IT ??? if you get it your IQ may be too high for software engineering. and this is just one example. i am on my third website for room mates and basically all the filters in all 3 of these sites work in such idiotic ways. why can't they just ask me if i smoke and then ask me if i am ok with a smoking tenant ? no they ask me if i want a tenant who will require me to be a non smoker. g-d willing i will be able to move into the Orlando home in just over 2 weeks ( once it closes ) a certain somebody didn't reply to my DM and he has previously said he wouldn't be able to make it at least in the near future so i have started looking for "room mates" ( tenants ) to rent out a part of the house to. i call them room mates because i don't know if the HOA allows this kind of renting but i was told by realtors that if i say it's my "room mate" ( in other words we live together, rather than i am renting to them ) then HOA basically has to accept it. the first site i tried was a scam ( roommates.com ) they have ONE STAR rating on trustpilot. i almost paid money but then i was like - wait, why am i paying for something that should be free ? then turns out they have fake accounts on there and you have to pay to message them and blah blah - anyway i deleted my account there. didn't pay obviously. somebody recommended that fucking roommates.com site on reddit so i thought it was legit ... but clearly reddit only deletes conservatives, not scammers promoting their scams. anyway so now i am trying a different site that has 4 stars on trustpilot and ... there are some women there looking for rooms, including fuckable ones, but i am not looking for a GF. so i tried looking at guys my age and ... two of them in a row are both DIVORCING. what are the odds ... it's a fucking pandemic !
