popularity of youtube, twitch, tik-tok etc. is due to the fact that 90% of people are RETARDED
studying a web page with tables and graphs is too hard for them. shit, even reading is too hard for them.
now i don't buy the argument that books are better than movies - text is even more one-dimensional than video - people who say "the book was better than the movie" are just mid-wits trying to be proud of the fact that they know how to read. same as mid-wits who talk about how classical music is the best and music today sucks.
but only web pages can have multiple dimensions to them so to speak. as for music it is modern electronic that is most multi-dimensional - it simply chooses not to use most of those dimensions 99% of the time. whereas classical music was using all it had - but it didn't have much - only a handful of instruments versus basically unlimited number of effects available today.
when somebody used to talk about classical music that used to be a dead giveaway that a person is a poser, just like when they would talk about vinyl or vacuum tubes. today posers talk about indie and lossless audio.
meanwhile i, with top 0.001% level knowledge of Audio just stream Spotify because i know most of sound quality is due to room acoustics and the rest due to speakers being too small - none of which Audiophiles ever talk about. 80% of what audiophiles discuss accounts for less than 5% of actual sound quality. 50% of what they discuss accounts for less than 1% of sound quality. 30% of what they discuss accounts for ZERO PERCENT of sound quality.
like 1/3 of discussions are about things like what type of film capacitor is best ... if you want to understand the level of delusion there it's like asking which color of "go fast" stripe makes your car the fastest, while your car is a Honda Civic with base engine.
of course if you tell an owner of a Honda Civic with a Spoiler and Fart Can that his spoiler doesn't do shit and he should just get a BMW already he will never go " wow you're right ! why didn't i think about this before ? " oh no, he will want to FIGHT YOU
i can't believe i wasted so much time debating those rejects on Audiophile forums. you never see real Audio Engineers on Audiophile Forums for the same reason you will never see a real Automotive Engineer on a forum that discusses spoilers and fart cans for Civic.
nor will you see somebody who understands how politics works on either a Republican or Democrat rally.
