Well I just experienced yet another reason why #btc > #gold
Looking to diversify my holdings, I bought a gold bar about a year ago at a local coin shop. Cash transaction, no ID required. "Wow" I thought. "Nice and private that was nice."
Went to the same shop to sell it back. "Ill need your license...and I need to snap your picture and scan your fingerprint." What?!? "Why?" County bill of sale law.
I tried again in nearby, more conservative county: "yup its the law" Which law? "I dunno"
So basically shotgun #KYC'd.
