Cairokee is an Egyptian rock band that formed in 2003 but came to prominence during the Egyptian Revolution of 2011 due to their politically-inspired lyrics and protest songs released after the uprising. They started out doing covers of English songs but soon switched to doing songs in Egyptian Arabic.
