i think if there is more than around fifty people at a potluck the host should simply assemble a large soup cauldron over a pit, and everyone can just throw things into it. perhaps there could also be a separate pit for things that are, by nature, cold. i will tend the cold pit.
i am imagining each person arriving with a one hundred foot by one foot tray. here is 100 broccoli. here is 100 cucumber. i have brought 100 bread. perhaps this will be an assembly line ford factory type situation.
what does a 100 person potluck look like. is someone baking 100 baked potatoes? or are 4 groups of people each making a permutation of potatoes that serves 25 people. this would be an ideal party for a sixth grader learning math. is this a complex form of communal dim sum
