everyone wants to believe their great artist is some kind of freak unfit for society. social media reveals few actually are. perhaps florence did dante a favor by exiling him. it would be difficult to read his work and then bump into him at the local cafe scarfing flaky pastries.

i bring my one year old and her older brother to a christmas concert. she's one, so i have to leave early. im walking out with them and the usher asks me, "oh, did you not like it?". how flattering you think my aesthetic sensibilities are directing this. i have no control here.
