If you own bitcoin and you don't run a node, you should start now. @BTC Sessions has all the tutorials you could ever dream of for this kind of stuff.

When explaining Bitcoin to people, they're always quick to argue any imperfection they think it might have and use those arguments to justify not using it at all. If only they held the same arguments for everything else in life, they would realize how Bitcoin can improve our lives in the future. Bitcoin doesn't need to be perfect, nothing is. It just needs to be better, which it is.
