Got rejected by a girl out of the blue today! Didn't ask her out or anything either! She mentioned I showed 'special attention' to her which considering I actively avoided such behaviour (e.g. random gifts, texting at all, asking her out, etc.) I found confounding and then it hit me: she was ill today so I offered some food here and there which she declined. This almost certainly got interpreted as niceguyism.
I'm literally never doing anything kindhearted for a woman ever again.
