While users are enjoying Ubuntu Touch 24.04-1.1 on their devices, we're working hard to bring 24.04-2.0 into an interesting spot. Not only do we have a Polkit agent integrated neatly into the system, it also allows us to do more privileged operations, like preventing the newly integrated Avahi from starting. Also, the obligatory support for confined Docker via Snap, which allows us to build and package Ubuntu Touch apps directly on the device. Here a screen recording off of the Fairphone 5.

I'm sad to say that I am in need of financial support again. My weekly work hours at my day job will be reduced soon, leaving me with less money than I already have, and I am looking for a second job and a few helping hands. This is a repository containing build files to create a bootable image for the Pixel Watch 2 and 2 LTE. Yes, Ubuntu Touch on a Smartwatch. Since this is uncharted territory on the Lomiri side, I would appreciate input from you, directly here in the comments, what you'd like to see and how you would like to help.

With Snap support on Ubuntu Touch based on 24.04, you're able to just: $ sudo snap install lxd $ sudo lxd init And run many of the offered aarch64 containers, like openSUSE or Fedora here.

After a bit of fixing in Mir, QtMir & Lomiri I am happy to report better stability of the desktop with Mir 2.20. It's far from finished but needless to say it's nice that using Firefox doesn't crash the desktop anymore. Also some screenshots of the workspace management.

Finally tax-debt free! Thank you again to everybody helping me since my initial call for help.
