If you're planning right now on donating money to something (like, for instance, your local mutual aid network), it's probably better to wait a few days unless it's time-sensitive.
Lots of people donate on or right before Christmas. Then, they've all "done their good deed", and the money doesn't keep coming in once it dries up. That's when your contribution is most needed.
