It is 2026, and recently an AI suggested “distro hopping” as a solution to a question I had about my NixOS setup.
What a time to be alive!

#programming I do like the idea of stack-based workflows. I do like the idea of making each step of a change a commit that can be reviewed independently, but, in my honest opinion, awful tools like Graphite are so bad and give a false sense of rigor. As a reviewer, you only see the current patch in the crappy web interface. A question arises about something that is not in the patch. The next course of action would be to check out the branch and examine the entire thing with a proper tool—I.e, your editor, running locally on your own machine.
You cannot do proper code reviews in a crappy web interface, such as the one ordained by the people from Graphite.
Give me a tool that lets me do the entire thing from my editor. Please.
Denmark shamefully pushing for banning VPN leads me to the question: Why not ban the use of Microsoft Word formatted files?
Bad things can be shared and communicated using Microsoft Word-formatted files.
I suggest hefty fines on all Microsoft Word users.
Why not? I am sure some Microsoft Word users are nasty people who needs to get fined and get in line.
