The Mastodon (and Flipboard!) account for CoffeeGeek.com - the world's most read coffee resource. Maintained by Mark Prince, Senior Editor. "To those who are coffee enthusiasts, pros, baristas: never be afraid of having your opinion changed on coffee. It means you're learning." #NCP posts are "non coffee posts" I occasionally make, usually about #soccer, #CanPL, #PacificFC #F1, and #photography. Another beastie on the review bench for a Snapshot Review on CoffeeGeek: the Flair Wizard, the nifty milk steaming solution they have for their lever machines, that works on all sorts of heat sources, including some quirky Asian-sourced butane burners we bought for the task. The Kruve Propel is the well deserved defacto standard when it comes to espresso cups for tasting and evaluation. But they are big, and fragile. Kinto of Japan has hit the market with several double walled glass cups that could bring the fight to Kruve. We're evaluating them for CoffeeGeek soon.
The OutIn Nano and Wacaco Pixapresso are decent travel spro gadgets. But MHW-3Bomberโ€™s new X-Press58 aims for serious espresso, and we got one. It uses standard 58mm baskets and a huge 13,500mAh fast charge PD battery. Though priced at $350, it includes the metal stand, tamper, and travel case, which others charge +$ for. Is it a gym weight or a portable USB-C prosumer machine? Weโ€™re testing heat up times, temps, cycling, usability and espresso taste now. First Look coming soon on CoffeeGeek.
