My wife finally got out to The Mayo Clinic to get advanced MRIs to try to determine the scope of her cancer. In the process, we found out that she has severely prolapsed intestines, AKA her small intestine has drooped down into the bottom of her abdominal cavity. A GI specialist with 20 years of experience said that it's the worst case he's ever seen. So, trying to figure out the mesothelioma is now on hold, she's on a liquid diet until she can get abdominal reconstruction surgery. The path ahead is daunting and uncertain, but at least after a year and a half of searching for answers, we finally have something that makes sense as to why she's had so much GI discomfort. If anyone out there has prayers to spare, we'll take everything we can get.
