I'm building an ai-free social video app called divine.video and it's gotten a lot of attention. So i decided to record an interview explaining the who, what, where, and why of it all.

I miss Vine. I miss authentic human social media instead of AI slop. Being able to choose who you follow rather than being force fed content by adversarial algorithms. So I built a thing to bring the idea of Vine back.

Activist, Technologist, and Author @Cory Doctorow took time to talk to me about the future of social media, protocols, resisting enshitification, bluesky, the fediverse, and the world we're trying to build together.

Medium has been around for so long we might forget it’s important role in the social media ecosystem. @Tony Stubblebine, CEO of Medium, talked with me about Medium’s evolution, AI, their Reddit like content moderation system, and how they differ from substack.

Are fediverse clients blocking users and federation with UK users and servers? Or are they hoping they’re too small to face charges under the UK OSA? Or going full KYC on all of their users and servers? I mean how do you tell if someone has made a post about a knife in a dangerous way? It seems like compliance on an open network or with open source software is impossible.

Substack has changed the world of journalism, making it easy for journalists to directly charge for a newsletter. Now they're growing in to a whole platform with algorithms, video, podcasts, microblogging... I sat down with their CEO Chris Best to talk about it just as they announce they've raised a $100 million in funding, and also their algorithm sent out an antisemitic push notification with a swastika icon.
