Congress formally declared only five wars: War of 1812, Mexican American War, Spanish American War, World War I, World War II. Korea was a UN police action. Vietnam ran under the Gulf of Tonkin. Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, Libya and the War on Terror all ran under AUMFs, not declarations, along with Grenada, Panama, Kosovo and most post 1945 conflicts.
