"The Lord does not work in conspiracies, nor is it His will that anyone should shed blood, but He has forbidden it in all things, from the beginning of mankind.
"Now I, Moroni, do not write the manner of their oaths and conspiracies, for it has been revealed to me that they exist among all people... They have caused the destruction of [the Jaredites] (likely the Olmec civilization), and also the destruction of the people of Nephi (likely the pre-Mayan people). And any nation that supports such conspiracies—to obtain power and gain, until they spread throughout their nation—shall be destroyed, for the Lord will not allow the blood of His saints, which will be shed by them, to forever cry out from the ground for vengeance, without avenging them.
"Therefore, O Gentiles, it is God's wisdom that these things should be shown to you, so that you may repent of your sins and not allow these murderous conspiracies—which are built up to get power and gain—to get power over you. If you permit them, then the work of destruction—yes, even your complete destruction—will come upon you. Indeed, the sword of the justice of the Eternal God will fall upon you, to your overthrow and ruin, if you allow these things to exist.
"Therefore, the Lord commands you, when you see these things arise among you, that you awake to a sense of your awful situation, because of this conspiracy that will be in your midst. For woe to this conspiracy because of the blood of those who have been slain! For they cry from the dust for vengeance upon it, and upon those who built it up, for whoever builds it up seeks to overthrow the freedom of all lands, nations, and countries. And such conspiracies will bring about the destruction of all people, for they are built up by the devil, who is the father of all lies."
