If anyone still wonders if they should buy #OnePlus: No. You should not. They've now put a hardware-based anti-rollback feature in place that, if you try to roll back (f.e. to install a custom ROM without Google spyware or because of some other issue) your device will be hard bricked, irreparably. They're worsening for years now, this is just the newest addition of crap they pull. #enshittification
I have a question for blind people on the Fedi: I sometimes try to prescribe things not just factual, but (especially with beautiful photos) also by describing it through comparable sensations like music or taste. Like this (for northern lights): "The whole sky is coloured in different colours from light green to red, like two soothing instruments or two mild but beautiful tastes complementing each other to become even more beautiful together." Is this a good or bad / weird thing to do?
rant, OpenSuse
It's hard to put in words how pissed off I currently am about #Linux #OpenSuse Leap 16. - All Wiki articles are wrong as they still recommend YaST2 - The Repo website still offers .ymp files for "1-Click Install". Which required YaST2. - Installing a newer Kernel as described causes the system updater to effectively break - Zypper constantly tries to downgrade the kernel, despite higher repo priority - Zypper ignores added locks (!) - Bootloader configurator gone (was YaST2) [1/2]
#KeepassXC are now actively using #AI slop code in their project, see f.e. here: They're also defending it, implying that Copilot would generate good code and if you think otherwise you haven't tried it. See here: This is bloody SECURITY SOFTWARE. I can't even. What the actual hell. As someone who tried #Mistral for many weeks to learn about AI boundaries: If you use current AI to generate production code you ABSOLUTELY encourage bad code. Period!
