 Seriously! Nobody wants this nonsense, particularly because Google is constitutionally unable to develop a modern product that isn't enshittified from the moment you begin using it.  My setup has been hybrid for some time. All of my development work runs in a cloud-based Linux VM I configured myself. But of course I'm still using a real computer to access that whether it's my iPad, Mac, or Linux desktop. In my opinion, the problem isn't "cloud" as much as it is vendor lock-in. Theoretically I could run a VM anywhere. I avoid having any kind of setup tied to just one vendor's proprietary APIs. View quoted note →
