Towards the end of 2025, we saw realisation across Europe and beyond of the danger of reliance on US technologies. In 2026 we want to ensure this momentum grows, with communities, publishers, and even governments turning their back on US social technologies. At the Newsmast Foundation, we're building to make a difference. With a suite of white-label app flavours, we're able to quickly spin up Social Web integrated social platforms for digital communities. For The Bristol Cable, this meant building something which combined news + social. Something that doesn't fit into a box but serves the Cable's members and the local community.
