There are different ways to escape, protest or change reality.
In a manhole in which one disconnects.
In a fringe group believing that it drives change.
Or by creating an alternative that scales, evolves and can be sustained. That’s how to create a positive change.
If AI doesn’t increase population’s income, share of wealth and freedom of action and speech it then increases consumption, is replacing the population or is an oppressive means of control. The path forward should be a society for humans augmented by machines in which ownership is decentralised
