It won't happen, given the heavyweight process for amending the US constitution (¾ of the states must ratify!), but I keep wondering what a reasonable amendment or tranche of amendments would be necessary to keep MAGAism from happening again. Out of scope: something like switching to a parliamentary system, since that would take a constitutional convention and a whole new document. Anti-gerrymandering? Strengthening the Fourth Amendment to seriously constrain ICE-like tactics? Change some "should appoint" to "must appoint" for various offices, with backup mechanisms in case the president doesn't act? Clearer assertion of Congressional control over the budget and war-making?
